General
freshlybuilt is a community-driven platform for indie makers to launch products, get feedback, and climb weekly rankings based on upvotes from real users. Every week, the community votes on the best new products, and the top performers get visibility across the platform.
Every Monday at midnight UTC, a new ranking week begins. Products submitted during that week compete for upvotes from the community. At the end of the week, the product with the most upvotes tops the leaderboard and earns a "Top Pick" badge for the following week. Rankings reset each week, so every product gets a fresh chance.
Upvotes are the core signal on freshlybuilt. Each registered user can upvote a product once per week. Upvotes determine your position in the weekly leaderboard — the product with the most upvotes ranks highest. More upvotes mean more visibility in the feed, sidebar, and weekly roundups.
A streak counts consecutive days of engagement — either upvoting or commenting on products. When you take a qualifying action on a given day, your streak increments. If you miss a day, your streak resets to zero. Streaks are visible on your profile and the community leaderboard at /streaks. They're a fun way to stay engaged with the community.
Submitting a Product
Click "New Launch" in the top bar or visit /submit. Fill in your product details across the multi-step form: basic info (name, tagline, description), links and logo, categories, and pricing model. Products go through a quick review and typically go live within 24 hours.
It depends on your plan. Free users can submit 1 product per week. Premium users can submit up to 10 products per week. Premium+ users get unlimited submissions. All submissions are reviewed before going live.
Yes — you can edit your product details from your dashboard at any time. Changes to live products are reviewed quickly, usually within a few hours. You cannot change the week your product is competing in after submission.
If your product doesn't meet our guidelines (spam, inappropriate content, incomplete submission), you'll receive an email with the reason. You can fix the issues and resubmit. Common reasons for rejection include missing descriptions, broken links, or products that don't align with the indie maker community.
Pricing & Billing
We offer three plans: Free ($0) with 1 submission per week and basic features; Premium ($12/mo) with priority placement, verified badge, advanced analytics, and up to 10 submissions per week; and Premium+ ($39/mo) with everything in Premium plus homepage sponsored slots, backlinks, API access, and dedicated support.
Free gives you basic access to submit and upvote. Premium unlocks priority ranking placement (your products appear higher in the feed), a verified maker badge on your profile, advanced analytics with detailed charts, and increased submission limits. Premium+ adds everything from Premium plus eligibility for homepage sponsored ad slots, a backlink from your product page, API access for programmatic submissions, and dedicated support.
Yes, you can cancel anytime from your billing settings. When you cancel, you'll continue to have access to your paid features until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account will downgrade to the Free plan. There are no cancellation fees.
We offer a full refund within 7 days of purchase if you're not satisfied. After 7 days, you can still cancel but won't receive a refund for the current billing period. Contact support@freshlybuilt.dev for any refund requests.
Advertising
Premium+ subscribers can purchase advertising slots to promote their products. Available slot types include sidebar top, sidebar mid, and inline feed ads. Each ad shows your product logo, name, a short blurb, and a link to your website. Ads are reviewed before going live and run for a minimum of 7 days.
Advertising is available to Premium+ subscribers. You can purchase ad slots through the /advertise page. Each slot type has different pricing and visibility — sidebar top ads get the most impressions, while inline feed ads appear naturally in the product list.
Premium+ subscribers get access to our REST API for programmatic product submission, analytics retrieval, and ranking data. The API uses standard OAuth2 authentication. Documentation is available at /api/docs once you've upgraded to Premium+.
